Preliminary task

Our preliminary task -

At The beginning of the production we started by deciding what roles each person would be given. Rahib and Ivan were the actors and me and Callum were filming and framing it.

The different methods that we learnt during this task were the 180 degree rule and keeping the eye lines equal, how to do shot reverse shot and several editing techniques

The 180 degree rule is where you ensure that the camera remains on one side of the two people so the audience stays orientated. The only way you can move it to the other side is if you show the camera moving onto the other side so that the audience knows that it has moved. Keeping the eyeline equal too also helps the audience know that they are talking and stay orientated.

Shot reverse shot is used to show the conversation more clearly and who is talking at each time, you do this by recording the conversation from several different angles and cutting it when you want to show who is talking and the facial expressions in the conversation.

During editing some of the techniques that we learnt were how to cut together a shot reverse shot scene properly and also how to use transitions effectively throughout the scene.
